Safe drinking water is our top priority and UCS has taken significant steps to reduce lead in drinking water. As part of a variety of lead service line replacement programs, UCS is proud to aid in getting the lead out.
United Construction Services, a DC Water approved contractor, is also involved with various initiatives for “Lead Free DC”. This includes the removal of lead water lines in residential areas. Our crews provide turnkey operations (public and private side) lead service line replacement using trenchless methods. Usually replacing the lead service with 1” copper pipe along with new intra home or business connections and valves, curb stop, and meter assembly with digital meter. All disturbed areas are restored with existing landscape and roadway access excavation backfilled, compacted and prepared for final restoration and paving.
